Trump Lord Of The Flies

Trump got elected based on the "deaths of despair" campaign strategy. He is now doing everything possible to "expand" his electoral base for 2020. Granted he has a limited window of opportunity...

"It was all going so well"

The savings from this particular election-rigging gambit are nominal. Trump only did this to prove that he's still a good Christian.

"We can feed 3 million children, or we can buy 5 new F35s"
"What would Jesus do?"

It was that kind of week:

Work release?

What we've seen in the past two weeks from Netflix, Tesla, and now Amazon is that when Ponzi companies stop buying market share, they explode. Because Disney World never wants to be told that endless growth is ending...

Today, Amazon's profit miss coincided with a declining GDP report, extolling the "strong consumer". It's the myth of the jobless consumer - deaths of despair titan of corporate Globalization.

Meet the hardcore Idiocracy:

What we are witnessing in real-time is this era's collision of lies:

For the past two decades, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos has told investors that long-term growth destroying retail is more important than short-term any profits.

"Thanks Strong Consumer"

U.S. economic statistics now have the veracity of a Trump wedding vow.

The official employment statistic is intentionally massaged to omit people who have given up on looking for a job aka. the long-term unemployed. And Federal debt is now officially "GDP".

Meanwhile, retail sales are never adjusted for profit margin. Meaning that companies such as Amazon have been using cheap capital to buy sales and otherwise destroy the rest of the retail sector.

An assertion now inconveniently confirmed by today's GDP report:
