Unfortunately, Camacho-in-Chief has never faced a match that wasn't rigged in his favour...
The U.S. is a supernova empire, collapsing down to a dwarf star. As such, it continues to “emit” the failed ideas that led to its own self-destructive demise. The same way a collapsed star emits toxic radiation. Most of these failed ideas center around the cult of the individual, and the elevation of self-interest above that of societal well-being. To be sure, it’s a “unique” way of life among the developed nations. “Exceptional” only in the most ironic sense of the word. From an historical perspective, not only have these ideas failed catastrophically, but they have been satisfactorily taken to the full extent of their self-destructive proof of failure. And then quite a bit further. The Achilles Heel of the U.S. economic "model" is its pathological disregard for the plight of one’s fellow (wo)man. A blind spot to risk that never fails to surprise America’s bailout class vis-a-vis “Black Swan” events. “Black Swan” being the de rigueur term for greed and self-absorption.
What people outside of the U.S. don’t realize, and what most people inside the U.S. are in denial of, is the fact that the post-9/11 housing bubble and crash disproportionately impacted the U.S. middle class. That is, relative to the rest of the world, with respect to mass foreclosures, mass layoffs, and mass bankruptcies. It has always been the “American way” to protect profit at any and all cost, void of even the slightest regard for societal impact. Which is why a decade worth of jobs vanished in a matter of months post-Lehman:
What this means is that the U.S. is further along with respect to societal breakdown than the rest of the world. Now manifesting in Trumptopia - an ultra-fake fantasy of restoring the U.S. to its prior glory. Trump is everything that's wrong with the U.S. rolled into one human Twinkie: he’s corrupt, vain, superficial, sociopathic, materialistic, habitually insolvent, ignorant, intolerant, obese, addled, and buffoonish.
Societal breakdown of course manifests in fentanyl overdoses and mass shootings. Two thirds of the largest mass shooting deaths over the past 70 years took place since the housing bubble burst.
No surprise, Trumptopia 2017 is the highest year on record without any comparison:
February 2018:
"Antisemitic incidents in the US surged 57% in 2017, the Anti-Defamation League on Tuesday, the largest year-on-year increase since the Jewish civil rights group began collecting data in 1979."
Blatant disregard for others is not a strength. It's a terminal weakness.
