In Trump We Trust

"The case against Trump is so voluminous that by this time argument is pointless. You either have the judgment to see him for what he is...

Or, you do not..."

One day after cutting off healthcare funding for millions of working people, the Anti-Christ speaks to his loyal followers:

"We are stopping cold the attacks on Judeo-Christian values"

2.1 Lust
2.2 Gluttony
2.3 Greed
2.4 Sloth
2.5 Wrath
2.6 Envy
2.7 Pride

Ten years since last cycle's market peak, it's only fitting that consumption sentiment has just reached a new cycle high for this current charade. Apparently, the secret to happiness is abundant fentanyl and lowering expectations to Third World standards. But don't take my word for it...

Melt-up indeed:

Consumer sentiment surged in early October, reaching its highest level since the start of 2004. The October gain was broadly shared, occurring among all age and income subgroups and across all partisan viewpoints. The data indicate a robust outlook for consumer spending that extends the current expansion to at least mid 2018, which would mark the 2nd longest expansion since the mid 1800's.

While the early October surge indicates greater optimism about the future course of the economy, it also reflects an unmistakable sense among consumers that economic prospects are now about as good as could be expected. This "as good as it gets" outlook is supported by a moderation in the expected pace of growth in both personal finances and the overall economy, accompanied by a growing sense that, even with this moderation, it would still mean the continuation of good economic times. Although such an outlook is typically recorded in the late phase of an expansion, its occurrence is independent of the ultimate length of an expansion [With logic like that who needs enemies]. Indeed, nothing in the latest survey indicates that consumers anticipate an economic downturn anytime soon"

The kicker: "Make America Accept Lower Living Standards"
"It is this acceptance of lackluster growth rates in personal income and in the overall economy that signifies that consumers have accepted, however reluctantly, limits on the pace of improving prospects for living standards."

Until Stockcharts updates, I penciled in the new data point:

Bueller?

Got China Tech?

Sudden death double overtime. Position accordingly:

Speaking of volatility compression:
ZH: This Is The Second Least Volatile Period In 46 Years:

"Going back 55 years, the average cumulative intra-day losses over a 25-day period is about 660 basis points, or 6.6%. As of yesterday (October 10), the last 25 days have seen a grand total intra-day loss of just 96 basis points, or 0.96%. If that seems small, it is"

"outside of the period ending November 26, 2014, this is the smallest cumulative 25-day intra-day loss in the past 46 years"

Only the machines know with precision what millisecond this all ends, however one thing is for 100% certain, the hairless monkeys won't see it coming...

"[Friday's] retail sales and consumer price reports are the last chance for a rally in the greenback this week"

Both missed:

"Oil declined as the International Energy Agency cast doubts on the prospect of reducing a price-killing global glut"

the IEA forecast indicates that if the producers prolong the same level of supply cuts, they won’t deplete inventories. Global oil demand will increase next year, yet most of this growth can be satisfied by rising production from the U.S."

The last two times the Nasdaq tagged the upper trend line and buying reached an extreme, the casino rolled over. I don't know what will happen this time...

ZH: Pat Buchanan Asks, Is Trump Reagan?

Andrew Coyne, National Post:
"The case against Trump is so voluminous that by this time argument is pointless. You either have the judgment to see him for what he is, or you do not"

The first is to take it all in, to register, without blinking, all of the countless ways in which he falls short of the most minimal expectations of a functioning adult, let alone the president of the United States — the damaged, childlike psyche; the insecurity, the constant need for affirmation; the compulsive lying; the bottomless ignorance; the coarseness; the lack of elemental judgment or self-control; the refusal to be bound by for any norms of behaviour, personal or political, ethical or even legal; the fantasy policies; the exaltation of violence; and of course, as we have lately been reminded, the indulgence of, if not overt appeals to racism — and having done so, to form a judgment: that this incontinent simpleton should never have been allowed anywhere near the office of the presidency."

In other words, no Patty, you Nixonite fucking moron. Trump is Terminal Idiocracy, a one way trip to the sun...
