The American Dream. Indeed.

Global hegemony is rented at exorbitant privilege cost.

The entire world got used up for corporate profit, celebrated by a Dow at all time highs. Ignoring global risk, the overwhelming preoccupation of the gambling class...

The American Dream unfortunately had to be sold to make the quarter. Globalization exists solely to enable industrial arbitrage - the selling down of legacy assets by U.S. corporations, prior to inevitable collapse. The Faustian dark side of a reserve currency. Everything else being discussed non-stop is merely a diversion to keep the Idiocracy talking while the estate sale is in progress. Which is why the estate sale never gets discussed. Today's mindless dunces in positions of power can't face the gravity of what has taken place under their several decades in power. Today's politicians are merely rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic - zero sum rent-seeking, amid ever-more strident vitriol. Nixon apologist, Pat Buchanan is worried that his Twitter-tard-in-chief is being hamstrung by "judicial overreach". Executive orders are the new democracy, but the judges over-turning Twitter-fiat are the real problem. Sure. You got sold old boy, just admit the truth for once in your life. Stop channeling your Nixonian-quality denial. A reserve currency made you "exceptional" for a brief moment in history, and then it was gone. Most people on this planet will never know what it feels like to have unlimited buying power, paid for by the entire rest of the world.

Go back and study the history of the world this time. Many before you have believed they were exceptional only to find out the hard way that they were really just delusional. And watch out for that freight train heading in your direction to take you back to the Little House On the Prairie, before Exxon ruled your world. One more thing, don't forget, Nixon took the U.S. off the gold standard, which is what allowed the estate sale to take place. "Total disaster". You can't rewrite that history.

Exceptional indeed.

"The Bowling Green Massacre, in case you’re not familiar, was an outrage that White House Counselor Kellyanne Conway invented to explain support for the executive order signed by the president barring refugees from seven mostly Muslim countries. Though she referenced the “event” in multiple interviews"
