Rome Is Burning. To The Ground.

"Rome seeks its own glory, wars against other peoples to subjugate them, revels in material existence, lives off the work of slave labor, allows many to die of poverty and starvation, and promotes entertaining circuses and gladiator spectacle."

All that remains now for the apologists for greed is to try to blame someone else ahead of the implosion. The U.S. has turned into an echo chamber for dumbfuck ideas. Some people need to get out more and realize that education, healthcare, and government can all run well when they're not owned by corporate cartels...

The "left" needs to go their own way. Everyone else will live happily ever after in South Park

The U.S. doesn't have a "left wing". If the U.S. had a functioning left, then wealth inequality wouldn't currently be at 1929 levels.

Corporate multinationals used Shock Doctrine principles to systematically obliterate the U.S. middle class. Hard to believe, but that wasn't a "left wing" conspiracy.

An aging society has a strong preference for return on capital over return on labour. Which is why the Baby Boomers allowed the working class to get sold for special dividends. Anything that would bolster return on capital and augment their retirement was fair game. The Boomers were/are the largest voting bloc and they used that political capital to full advantage.

But since we're talking about the "left" and the "right", for the record:

Nixon took the U.S. off of the gold standard

Reagan tripled the U.S. debt via Supply-Side Ponzinomics

Bush junior outsourced the manufacturing sector to China and hired Goldman Sachs to Treasury:

Clinton rolled back Glass-Steagall

Bush junior invaded Iraq and Afghanistan

Bush junior turned a blind eye to the housing bubble and cut taxes for the ultra-wealthy

Obama doubled the U.S. debt, albeit mostly in 2009 and 2010 during the recession

Trump just repealed Dodd-Frank and rehired Goldman Sachs to Treasury

I agree though that splitting the country along the lines of serial conned corporate dumbfucks versus people with a semblance of a brain and conscience, makes perfect sense.

If there was an actual "left", I would take it any day over the human junk on the right, still worshipping their temple of greed. But let's let reality thin the herd first before we make any hasty decisions. See who is actually around afterwards. Might be a few people down the middle.
