However, I ask myself , why are stocks in blow-off mode at the very end of the cycle, whereas in every other cycle they peaked ahead of the economy?
For two reasons: First, because in this cycle, for the first time in U.S. history, fiscal policy was never normalized. Hence the Obama "recovery" was 100% borrowed money, and therefore technically the recession never really ended.
It's been smoke and mirrors this entire time...

Secondly, because Monetary policy was also never normalized, so gamblers stayed in the casino until the very end, because Central Banks never took away the punch bowl...
In the meantime, the world was imploding and taking corporate profits down with it:

All because U.S. wage inflation which had been trending negative, had a minor 'plink' at the very end of the cycle. Like last time, but more like a flaccid old man this time...
