Because man wanted his own set of rules
Man was above God's arbitrary rules of reality and nature. And con men realized early on that people, above all, crave certainty and anyone who can provide that certainty, regardless of how specious, in return obtains power. Therefore all manner of cults and religions sprung forth premised upon every ludicrous idea imaginable, in the historical land grab for followers, that has continued to this day.
Fast forward a few thousand years and mankind's escape from reality is hitting a brick wall. We are told that the "world has always been a messy place". Well, that may well be true, but we know for certain that the world has never in its history experienced 16,300 nuclear weapons alongside global anarchy.
Something should only be saved, if it's worth saving and is not otherwise prone to desecration...
Something should only be saved, if it's worth saving and is not otherwise prone to desecration...
You see it every single day - people who can't get out of their own fucking way. They were given a life on this planet, but the best they can do is be in a constant state of dissatisfaction. More is never enough. It's the exact same situation on the macro scale. Mankind is using up this planet in some mad competition for who can have the best clothes, nicest car, biggest McMansion. It's a high school popularity contest for people who apparently never graduated.
There are only two types of people in this world: those who realize that life is not a competition, and the majority who will realize far too late, that their time on this earth was wasted.
Who gave humanity the right to destroy the planet? Humans.
In the meantime, mankind's biggest problem are the elites and their own God complex. In every direction, we are surrounded by arrogant thought dealers with simplistic answers to every unanswered question. As in the case of the religious leaders, the elites can never admit that they don't have the answer. They can never admit uncertainty. Why? Because, again, having answers, is the basis of their "power". People crave that certainty, so they turn to whomever will provide it, no matter how specious. History is full of demagogues and every turbulent period in history hatches legions of them.
Right now, there are sociopathic billionaires lying to us that poverty is improving. Politicians dropping bombs on people halfway around the world, to teach them the "American Way". Corporations telling us they have the magic pill to fix problems created by other corporations that told us the same thing. Central Banksters playing God with the money supply, creating serial bubbles that have wiped out millions of families. And of course this globalized ponzi scheme that has left three quarters (and more) of humanity enslaved by Godless corporations and their megalomaniacal CEOs. All due to Mankind's God complex.
I just watched Dr. Sanjay Gupta on a CNN special, talking to biotech engineers about how they can create "drugs" from marijuana. As many people know (better than me) cannabis has medicinal properties that can cure all manner of diseases. Yet, apparently when these substances in pot are extracted and put into pills, they don't work as well. This is the God complex in a nutshell. A bunch of overeducated morons thinking they can make something better than what was perfected by nature. Once again, what God created was deemed to be not adequate, therefore it had to be improved upon.
Mankind has been "improving" this planet for thousands of years, bringing us to this lethal juncture. And the only ones who don't acknowledge the lethality of this period of time, are the psychopaths who think they are God.
Elaborate fairy tales are a dead end. Literally.
As many of us have long suspected, this is a *special* time. We don't know how many people will survive this "phase", but we can say for certain that it will be fewer than 7 billion. It would appear, that "God" is not impressed by our God complex and has dispatched reality to teach humanity a very deep and abiding lesson. Suffice to say, none of this will end, until mankind achieves humility, abandons its God complex, and acknowledges the inherent superiority of that which God itself created.
Only true humility can save humanity.
In its current incarnation, as history's largest nuclear-armed refugee camp, it's not even worth saving.
