"Collapse is inevitable and everyone knows it"

The Almighty Power of Conformity
This Walmartized society is bounding merrily towards oblivion

"Even the high and mighty assembling at the Swiss resort recognize, now, that grotesque inequality is the greatest threat to world peace. Their answer: Party on!" (Jan. 21, 2014)
"The bottom half of the world’s population owns the same as the richest 85 people in the world.”

Well, not everyone "gets it"
"By almost any measure, the world is better than it has ever been." (Bill Gates, Jan. 2014)

- CEO of Allianz, Europe's largest insurer

No shit. Thanks for sharing. Here we thought the elites were self-absorbed morons. Fortunately, they are merely self-absorbed cynics. After all, this entire shit show only works now to their benefit, so it makes total sense that they would want Extend and Pretend to last as long as possible. And voila - via the greed-sponsored carry trades, Draghi has driven bond yields down below where they were prior to the financial crisis despite a doubling in debt. It's a testament to the power of greed and plausible deniability. The Wall Street call option in action - heads I win, tails you lose.

But really, this entire era is also a testament to the almighty power of conformity. How else do you con the vast majority of 7 billion people to buy into an economic catastrophe that is giving off every signal that it's doomed to collapse? Indeed it already failed spectacularly once in 2008 and it was rescued only by the most dubious of money printing measures, by dumpster diving Central Bank bukkake whores.

The Borg IS the illusion
Clearly, people just want to be like everyone else at all costs. They want directions to the concentration camps. They want to be part of the herd of buffalo regardless of where it's heading. It's comfortable being part of the conformist masses and uncomfortable walking the lonely path. It's easier to convince 7 billion people to do something stupid than it is to convince 7. As long as everyone else is going along with the program, then the Borg itself becomes the illusion. It's high school for corporatized zombies.

Noblesse Oblige is Dead
That gets to the next takeaway from the quote above, which is that the concept of noblesse oblige is deeply buried ancient history. It's an artifact of prior ages when class and morality meant something. It's not a concept that could withstand the branded Idiocracy and all things fake. Junk food, junk culture, junk leadership. Today's pseudo-elites are some of the most corrupt sociopaths who ever walked this planet. An entire generation of Bernie Madoffs running amok. They are leading us all straight into the fucking abyss.

Someone knows where the bodies are buried
ZH has been giving regular updates on the spate of bankster suicides. There have been 15 such incidents so far this year. I've never commented on this "sad trend" because I've always felt like who gives a fuck? The latest guy shot his wife several times and then killed himself - how considerate. However, this is all just proof positive that these fucking Madoffs are all sociopaths who know that they are profoundly evil and that this is all a one way trip. When it ends, there is no exit strategy and the best option is to off themselves rather than to confront all of the regular people that they fucked over to get to the top. They are human call options. And suffice to say, their expiration date is approaching.

What is the point of all this mass insanity?
All this post-2008 era represents is one last desperate money grab by Central Bank sponsored billionaires.  They knew this was all ending in 2008 and they just wanted one more chance to cash out.

And that's what they are doing right now. Cashing out. (And partying, of course)
